Gentry Group offers several floor plans for a home buyer to choose from and we also start homes from scratch by staffing an in-house designer and architect. We offer decoration consultation services provided by Cathy Cooper who works closely with the buyers in choosing everything from floor coverings and light fixtures to the color of your new home's exterior. Gentry Group provides the home buyer with a variety of choices to finish their home and make it truly unique.
A few of the things that sets us apart from other builders is that:
- We use structured wiring for TV, phone, cable & Ethernet.
- We use steel beams to reduce the potential for settlement & cracking.
- We use engineered wood floor framing, which is stronger and quieter. They often refer to this type of wood floor framing as the "Quiet Floor".
- Some, but not all, of our houses use 90% efficient furnaces & water heaters.
Awards
Gentry Construction Is Recognized With A 2008 Energy Star Leadership In Housing Award
Gentry Construction earns award for building new homes that protect the environment through energy efficiency.
Bloomington, IN, June 2008—Gentry Construction is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2008 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award. This award recognizes the important contribution that our organization has made to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by building more than 40 ENERGY STAR qualified homes. Collectively, these homes will save our customers approximately $17, 880 on utility bills.
The environmental benefits of these ENERGY STAR qualified homes are the equivalent of:
*Eliminating the emissions from 19.6 vehicles;
*Saving 118,560 lbs of coal;
*Planting 32.4 acres of trees; or
*Saving the environment 232,520 pounds of CO2 per year.
Homes that earn the ENERGY STAR meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the EPA. ENERGY STAR qualified homes are at least 15 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20-30% more efficient than standard homes. ENERGY STAR qualified homes can include a variety of energy-efficient features, such as effective insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and ducts, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and ENERGY STAR qualified lighting and appliances.
ENERGY STAR is growing strong in the residential new construction market. In 2007, over 120,000 new homes were constructed to meet ENERGY STAR guidelines, bringing the total number of ENERGY STAR qualified homes to almost 840,000. Owners of these homes are saving more than $200 million annually on their utility bills.
According to Sam Rashkin, National Director of ENERGY STAR for Homes, “ENERGY STAR qualified homes are better homes that cost less to own, protect the environment, reduce our reliance on imported energy, and improve our economy. Leadership in Housing award recipients are making a meaningful difference at this critical time in our country’s history.”
